BAAC supports medical scholarships

Mr. Tanusak Lekuthai, Deputy Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) grants BAAC fund to medical personnel

Mr. Tanusak Lekuthai, Deputy Minister of Finance, Chairman of the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), Mr. Luck Wajananawat, BAAC President, and Dr. Winai Sawasdivorn, Secretary of the National Health Security Office (NHSO) grant BAAC fund to 6 medical personnel to study oversea in Master degree and Ph.D total amount of 9 million Baht.



BAAC holds school bank camp to develop banking skills for children

BAAC supports youth to build up savings habits by holding 2nd school bank camp aimed at developing banking skills of 462 students who perform tasks in school bank from every province across the country.

Mr. Somsak Kangteerawat, Executive Vice President of Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) reviews that BAAC has encouraged students and youth to build up saving habit through the school bank project. This will help youth to learn about doing household accounting, savings, and banking activities in order to set a solid foundation of savings in the future. Recently, there are 1,023 schools participating in this project and there are 245,771 accounts with deposits more than 155 million baht.

In fiscal year 2013, BAAC plans to extend the project to reach 1,200 schools. Therefore, in order to support students working as branch manager, assistant manager and financial accountant, there is sharing knowledge and activities with other school resulting in creating a network and building up their own potential. Eventually causing this 2nd school bank camp. There were 462 students participating from every province across the country. Such activities were held in five regions ranging from the north to the south. For northern region, there were 16 provinces with 96 students participated in the camp during 1-4 August 1013 at the Imperial Resort & Sports Club Chiang Mai. For lower northeastern and eastern region, there were 15 provinces with 90 students participated in the event during 15-18 August 2013 at the Golden Land Resort, Nakhon Ratchasima. For 17 provinces of central and western region, there were 102 students participated in the event between 22-25 August 2013 at Chawalan Resort, Nakhon Pathom. For 15 provinces of upper northeast, there were 90 people participated the event from 29 Aug -1 Sep 2013 at Inpawa hotel, Khon Kaen. For 14 provinces of southern region, there were 84 people joining the event during 5 September, 2013 at Ruaratsada hotel, Trang.

Mr. Somsak said the course of the camp will focus on banking activities of school bank by sharing experiences from successful schools that could encourage students to develop saving habit through the school bank. The camp activities also include basic management and troubleshooting that may encounter in the workplace. These allow children to hand on and practice the tasks. However, BAAC staff in each area will coach needed skills and knowledge including techniques and tools such as book bank, poster, leaflet, financial applications, etc. to those students performing task at school bank.

This camp has been organized in collaboration with its partners to support projects including Syn Mun Kong Insurance Public Company Limited, Muang Thai Life Insurance, Thai Life Insurance, Dhipaya Insurance, SCB Life Insurance, Navakij Insurance, Nam Seng Insurance Plc., Viriyah Insurance, Union Life Insurance and South East Insurance. BAAC supported football development fund

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra presided over the opening ceremony of a charity football match to establish a fundation to assist former Thai national football players. And support the Special Athletes Olympics International as well as other agencies related to sport in order to develop sustainability of sport. Mr. Danusak Lek-uthai , Deputy Minister of Finance and Chairman of BAAC Board of Director together with Mr. Luck Wajananawat, BAAC president were representative BAAC to donate 5,000,000 baht on July 24, 2556, at the Rajamangala Stadium, Bangkok.



BAAC Board of Directors study visited in Surat Thani Province.

Mr. Wirat Sakjirapapong and Mr. Sommai Kusab, BAAC Board of Directors as well as BAAC Executives proceeded to Surat Thani provincial offices operations area to monitor the implementation of dam project to maintain the balance of the environment in Koh Samui which is one of BAACs CSR activities as well as to visit BAAC executives and staff in Surat Thani provincial office in order to inspect its operations, problems and difficulties in working during 21 to 22 June 2013.

Mr. Wirat Sakjirapapong, BAAC Board Member, together with BAAC Executives and staff participated in an activity called Returning forest to the land by way of traditional "merit Sum huh" This activity was organized as a CSR activity and as to follow up problems of Roi Et AMC rice mills operation on June 24, 2013.
